A company record in Orbis represents an organization — a business, startup, nonprofit, or any other entity. Companies are linked to contacts, so you can navigate from a person to their employer and back, and track notes and interactions at the company level.

What a company record contains

Each company record holds:
  • Name and domain — the company’s legal name and website domain
  • Logo — automatically fetched via Brandfetch when a domain is known
  • Description — a short summary of what the company does
  • Industry and size — industry classification and employee count range
  • Location — city, region, country, and metro area
  • Social profiles — LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, and other public pages
  • Financial data — funding stage, total funding raised, revenue range, stock ticker, market cap, and IPO year when available
  • Tech stack — technologies the company uses, sourced from enrichment
  • Contacts — all people in your network who work at this company

The companies list

The companies list shows all organizations in your Orbis workspace. You can:
  • Search by company name or domain
  • Filter by industry, employee size, country, or whether a LinkedIn or website is present
  • Sort by name, contact count, or date added
  • Switch views between a table and a kanban board organized by lifecycle stage or relationship type
Each row shows the company logo, name, domain, industry, size, and the number of contacts linked to it.

Relationship metadata

You can track your organization’s relationship with each company using:
  • Relationship type — customer, partner, vendor, investor, portfolio, prospect, competitor, or other
  • Lifecycle stage — prospect, lead, opportunity, negotiation, committed, customer, churned, or dormant
  • Priority — high, medium, low, or none
  • Sentiment — positive, neutral, negative, or mixed
  • Owner — the team member responsible for this relationship
  • Tags — custom labels for grouping and filtering

Company enrichment

Orbis enriches company records automatically when a domain is known. Enrichment pulls:
  • Logo and brand colors via Brandfetch
  • Description, industry, and employee count via PeopleDataLabs (PDL)
  • Social links via PDL and public data
Enrichment runs when a company is first created or when you trigger it manually from the company profile’s action menu.
Company logo and brand data is fetched automatically when a domain is known. Logo enrichment is included as part of your Orbis plan.

Adding companies

Auto-created from contacts

When you add or import a contact with a company name or domain, Orbis creates a company record automatically if one doesn’t already exist. The contact is then linked to that company.

Added manually

To add a company without an associated contact, click Add company in the companies list. Enter the company name and domain, then save. Enrichment runs automatically once the domain is known.
Adding a domain is the most important step — Orbis uses the domain to fetch the logo, match the company against enrichment databases, and deduplicate against existing records.
